The department is in line with social trend. Not only is it continuously improving and enriching the teaching content, but also committing to talents cultivation and basic or applied research. It is by thorough training that we hope to contribute to the beauty industry and the public. Curriculum planning and teaching adhere to the beliefs of “aesthetics, creativity, professionalism, and proactivity” in this department. We inherit the “Begin from oneself and extend benevolence towards all” and actively implement the concept of vocational education in conjunction with the development goals of College of Human Science and Social Innovation. We will implement the three-in-one policy of “learning, examination, and utilisation” to cultivate high-level professionals, who are qualified for academic and practical licenses, with humanism quality and creative thinking.

 

There are two groups which is “Cosmetology Science” and “Fashion Beauty Art” in the department. Five main categories, includes cosmetology science, physiology and beauty, beauty skills and art, and management, are developed based on the core ability in order to strengthen students skills, develop school features and reflect the needs of the industry.

 

1.General Curriculum

Based on the school motto “Begin from oneself and extend benevolence towards all”, the curriculum is designed into two parts. One includes character education, which is life, art, humanity and environmental education, and self learning ability. Another one includes basic skills courses, core general courses and categorized general courses. In total, there are 40 credits for university program and 34 credits for further study program.

 

2.Professional Curriculum

Professional curriculum of university program, includes further study program, is designed in accordance to industry requirement, specialties and students aptitudes. Minimum of 88 credits for university program and 94 credits for further study program is required in order to receive the diploma. Mandatory courses aim to build the foundation skills in the first two years, then move on to professional skills for the last two years. Students take select courses based on their interests and future development.

 

Master ( includes programs for working professionals)

Professional curriculum planning is based on labour requirement of industry development. 10 credits for compulsory subjects, 14 credits for select subjects, and 6 credits for thesis. The courses emphasize on cosmetology developing stills as well as strengthening the skills of analysis and testing, functionality and proficiency.
